ACTIVE NOISE AND VIBRATION CONTROL LITERATURE SURVEY: Sensors and Actuators
This study arose from the need to control noise in naval vessels to reduce their detectability and hence vulnerability to enemy attack. In this report a detailed review of sensor and actuator technologies that could be used for active noise and vibration control in ship structures has been provided. The review focused on a wide range of sensor and actuator materials, such as piezoelectric and e...
متن کاملOptimal Placement of Actuators and Sensors for Vibration Active Control
Optimal placement of actuators and sensors is an important issue in vibration active control. An index for joint consideration of controllability and observability based on singular values of Hankel matrix is described at first, then an objective function according to the index is defined for actuator and sensor placement. A genetic algorithm procedure (GA) is adopted to solve the optimization ...
متن کاملSystematic Design of Piezoelectric Modal Sensors/actuators
Piezoelectricity is the ability of some materials (notably crystals and certain ceramics) to generate an electric potential in response to applied mechanical stress and vice versa. Whenever this kind of materials produce an electric signal proportional to their deformation, it is said that they work as sensors, and conversely, when they convert electrical energy into mechanical one, as actuator...
متن کاملRobustness for Point Processes
We consider robustness for estimation of point processes parameters. An influence functional measures the effect of contamination on estimators. We derive some of its properties, and use it to propose an M-estimator alternative to the MLE for the inhomogeneous Poisson process case. We also show the consistency and asymptotic normality of this estimator.
متن کاملModal Fixed Point Logics
These four lectures are centered around multi-modal logics extended by the possibility to introduce least and largest fixed points. We begin with discussing a range of traditional results and turn towards a more explicit and operational approach in the fourth lecture. Our focus will be on foundational questions rather than practical applications, which will be – I assume – treated in other lect...
